Summary
Reporting to the Senior Vice President Digital Product, Technology and Operations, the Director Business Strategy and Development will be a key member of the Eonline management team, responsible for identifying and implementing effective revenue strategies, seeking out and executing key partner relationships, and supporting and driving overall business development initiatives for the E! brand across all platforms. He/she will also work closely with other NBC Universal divisions and departments to help carry out broader based initiatives that drive overall value to E! Entertainment and the NBCU organization as a whole. The Director will bring an excellent understanding of the digital landscape, and the passion and competitive drive that helps Eonline and our digital businesses continue their rapid growth. He/she will also bring strong industry relationships and be a strong voice for our brand in the marketplace.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with our ad sales team by helping identify new opportunities that exploit the unique attributes of our audience and platform * Guide budget and planning process with sales leadership * Provide product and business development leadership that reflects changing market conditions and supports client initiatives * Oversee development of multi-screen ad products * Create new opportunities by leveraging emerging technologies and partnering with Ad Technology vendors * Work closely with our International team to help extend Eonline into a global powerhouse * Partner with NBCU Television Distribution and NBCU Digital Distribution to develop most effective strategy for SVOD and TV Everywhere viewing * Uncover new opportunities and negotiate agreements in existing and new categories of business (video distribution, licensing, commerce, etc.) * Create and execute an effective Ecommerce strategy * Oversee relationships and business operations with current partners * Drive strategies to grow existing partnerships * Continuously evaluate partner performance and make recommendations * Point person for key cross-company groups and individuals including: Digital Distribution, Corporate Development, Ad Sales leadership, and Comcast Ventures * Develop relationships with digital and business development personnel across the Cable Entertainment portfolio as well as other NBCU divisions (News, Sports, Telemundo) * Uncover new cross-company opportunities for NBCU and help guide key corporate initiatives on behalf of E! and Cable Entertainment * Take pitch meetings and do primary research to help identify opportunities * Structure and build detailed financial models to evaluate various new business opportunities * Draft business plans and deal summaries * Provide product ideas and feedback and for management consideration * Negotiate and close deals as necessary * Work with existing partners to help optimize business relationship * Oversee the collection and evaluation of product and partner performance reporting and make recommendations to senior management as necessary * Additional duties and tasks assigned as needed
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** * MBA required; * Minimum 5 years digital media industry experience with strong understanding of mobile, web products, and a strong proclivity for new and emerging technologies. **Eligibility Requirements:** * Willingness to work in Los Angeles, CA and Universal City, CA * Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice when necessary * Must be willing to submit to a background investigation * Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States * Must be 18 years or older * Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program **Desired Characteristics** * Extensive experience in structuring and negotiating deals * Must be a strong leader who thrives in a fast paced, team-oriented environment * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Proficient in financial modeling * Ability to make decisions under tight timing and pressure. * Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and develop various products at different stages * Must have excellent written and communication skills, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail. * Broad knowledge of and interest in Entertainment. * Must be highly proficient with MS Office software (Power Point, Excel, Word). * Must work well in a team, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.
