Systems Engineer

DynCorp International LLC has its origins with two companies formed in 1946 – Land-Air, Inc., and California Eastern Airways. 1951: Land-Air, Inc., which became the predecessor to DynCorp International’s Maintenance and Technical Support Services (MTSS) Division, reached a major milestone in 1951 with the award of the first Contract Field Teams (CFT) contract by the Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC).

Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software operating systems.

* Participates in the development of test strategies, devices and systems * Works from specifications to assist in developing and modifying operating systems software applications * Formulates and defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. * Responsible for applications dealing with the overall operating system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages * Evaluates new and existing software products * Assists other systems engineers to effectively utilize the system's technical software.

**Knowledge & Skills** * Requires advanced knowledge of all phases of software systems programming applications. * In-depth knowledge of the support and installation of personal computers, networking hardware, systems, components and software used by the company. * Ability to understand and support linear and event driven program models. * Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. **Experience & Education** * Typically two (2) to five (5) years IT work experience in systems technical software. * Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. * Two (2) years experience in Information Technology or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years college. **Physical Requirements/Working Environment** * Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
