Principal Database Administrator

We’re looking for an experienced DBA to join our Telemetry Services and Systems team to support existing product lines and help design future systems.

* Work with the rest of the DB team to maintain, improve and document existing databases and applications * Work with the software development team to optimize DB performance * Work with software teams on database designs * Perform database troubleshooting and coordinate problem resolution activities * Establish and maintain productive relationships with peer organizations * Guide and Mentor junior team members * May occasionally need to work outside normal business hours to assist with production issues

* At least 5 years experience of PostGres DBA experience * Bachelor’s in Computer Science or similar * At least 10 years experience in software development * Experience with Linux-based operating systems, preferably RedHat (or a derivation thereof) **Nice to have** * Experience with using PostGres databases via applications * Experience with other DB technologies: Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB * Knowledge of WSGI * Strong Python, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL experience * Knowledge of network stack & internet protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS * Experience with SaltStack * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and within groups * Experience in working with remote development teams
