- Commitment to preserve and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.
- Partner with the product and business teams to raise awareness on data classification and proper data protection.
- Communicate and provide training with all levels of staff in the organization in relation to data classification and data protection.
- Responsible for creating data protection policies and then implement, enforce and monitor the adaption of these policies.
- Facilitate data analysis on identified critical projects to understand the current workflow, internal/external customer requirements and recommend approaches on how to protect confidential data being transmitted stored or processed.
- Partner with Privacy and legal to understand legal and regulatory requirements that impact our data and address any challenges that arise during the data analysis of such requirements.
- Perform assessments to identify gaps between data workflows and regulatory requirements and partner with technology to transform gap requirements into technology solutions.
- Ability to provide effective communications on the impact analysis to management to assist with the remediation strategy.
- Provide clear, organized findings and recommendation to internal clients and track progress towards resolution and compliance.
- Advise on how information sharing with external organizations must be conducted to comply with all legal and regulatory requirements and handling request for data sharing.
- Advise internal/external customers on security concerns with data and systems and to build strong relationships with all areas in order to foster excellent team collaboration.
- Trustworthy and confidential in all matters and acts to influence others rather than use authority.
- Ability to drive change effectively, using a flexible, consultative and supportive approach.
- Ability to analyze complex data workflows, issues and including research both written and verbal.
- Create operational dashboards to manage the data analysis, gaps, remediation and policy enforcement.
- Learning from the team as well as contributing your thoughts, tools, industry news or lessons learned.
- The ideal individual will be a well-organized, analytical, and strategic self-starter demonstrating excellent project management, technological and professional communication skills.
- 5+ year experience in Risk Management
- 2+ year hands-on experience with a variety of technical security controls and platforms (e.g., tokenization & encryption, etc.)
- Strong leadership to effectively communicate with legal, technology and business partners.
- Communicate data protection related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical personnel.
- Experience with governance, risk, and compliance tools and other relevant technical monitoring and reporting tools.
- Able to manage multiple programs simultaneously, with strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to emergencies.
- Bachelor's degree and MBA preferably in a related field or other equivalent experiences.
