Summary
The Search Specialist will assist with all of our SEM and SEO efforts for dsw.com. They will sit within Marketing and work closely with agency partners, eCommerce, IT and Creative teams to drive, implement and measure strategic initiatives for .com traffic and revenue growth. This role is highly analytical and detail-oriented. This person must be comfortable working with external marketing partners and internal stakeholders while prioritizing resources to drive the largest possible impact. The Search Specialist will be the go-to expert (both internally and externally) for all search activities, projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the thought leader and champion of search across the DSW landscape * Work cross-functionally on all aspects of SEO and SEM, including research, strategy and implementation * Develop SEO best practices and strategy for across .com and in external marketing channels * Work with cross functional partners to implement and measure SEO strategies * Partner with media agency to drive paid search and PLA strategy and execution, ensuring that performance is maximized * Develop and report out on search measurement plans on an ongoing basis * Ensure alignment between paid search and natural search strategies * Monitor search tools to identify site issues and collaborate with IT partners to resolve defects * Partner with agency and analytics teams to monitor, track and report on search KPI’s, overall performance and trends * Periodically audit the site and competitor sites to ensure that the DSW team consistently adheres to SEO best practices * Educate DSW partners on the importance of SEO and how it fits into a larger marketing and customer acquisition strategy * Conduct ongoing keyword research to apply a customer- first lens to marketing and merchandising strategies and product content * Provide training to others in the organization on issues important to SEO * Constantly monitor and communicate changes in industry trends and search engine algorithms to the DSW organization
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree * 5+ years of experience in SEO and SEM * Expert in SEO best practices * Knowledge of eCommerce best practices * Understanding of Omniture or similar analytics platform * Retail experience * Agency experience a plus * Proven ability to interact & collaborate across multiple disciplines in order to accomplish a common goal * Ability to drive teams to solutions on production/project issues, including internal customers and external vendors * Ability to utilize metrics/analytics to identify operational opportunities * Excellent leadership and communication skills * Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills
