Application Systems Analyst, Distribution Systems

The Application Systems Analyst, Distribution Systems designs, codes, tests and debugs programs based on technical specifications and document results within the Distribution System Department. Competently works at a moderate to high technical level in several phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. This position reports to the Manager, Distribution Systems and has no direct reports.

**Develops or modifies procedures to solve complex problems.** - Designs and codes screen layouts, printed outputs and interfaces with other systems - Converts designs and specifications into computer code. * Creates test scenarios and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications. - Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs. - Consults with members of the team and/or key users to prototype, refine and test and debug programs to meet needs. - Delivers assigned tasks on time. - Monitors performance of programs after implementation. **Provides production support as required.** - Supports production systems, on a rotation basis, for a week at a time. - Provides support direction or training for less experienced staff. - Researches and resolves help desk tickets for development support.

- 3-5 years’ experience in Oracle (including 10 or 11), SQL, PL/SQL, Unix, Shell scripting, Oracle Forms & Reports. - Retail experience preferred - Works under moderate supervision - Completes tasks that are varied and require independent judgment - Develops/designs solutions based on established technical design with little guidance from others - Creates documents w/peer review - Provides support and maintenance for complicated/integrated incidents - Troubleshoots moderately complex problems and recommends appropriate action - Evaluates risk potential and recommends solutions - Involved in projects and operational releases as a contributor - Understands and applies functional area’s strategy - B.S. Computer Science or related discipline
