Summary
The Legal Assistant will work under the supervision of the Patent Operations Manager and performs secretarial and administrative duties for attorneys and administrators. This position requires someone who can provide support in all areas related to patent operation especially patent filings, and will be familiar with standard concepts, practice, and procedures in patent filing related.
Responsibilities
* Prepare formal documents including specification, drawings, ADS, declaration and all the other required forms for filing US provisional and non-provisional applications. Prepare responses to various notices, prepare IDS and arrange issue fee payments. Prepare/record assignment * Monitor, review, download, organize, archive and file daily correspondence. * Handling and processing patent awards. * Intake new invention disclosures in CPI. * Circulate a recommendation of patent filing to Patent Review Committee. * Provides other support services as directed by manager or any member of the Dolby management team. * Other miscellaneous items including but limited to requesting checks to replenish USPTO deposit account, order copies of certificate of priority documents or assignments for foreign filings, filing expense reports for patent group, provide periodical updates for legal reference, etc. **Worker Responsibilities:** * Prepare formal documents for patent filing arrange issue fee payments. Ideal Candidate
* Patent e-filing and administrative support experience * Working knowledge of CPI System or any computerized docketing software highly desirable. * Intermediate Excel 2010, Word 2010, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook 2010, * Law firm background is highly desirable * PowerPoint skill highly desirable * Quick Learner
