Summary
Reporting to the Director of Global Intellectual Property Protection Operations in our San Francisco headquarters, the Business Analyst will be responsible for broad scale data analysis, business systems analysis and project planning, as well as ad hoc analyses related to systems, large datasets, licensees, product and marketplace trends.
Responsibilities
* Data stewardship * Assist in implementing improvements on all data collection effort on all tier reporting In collaboration with the Operations Manager, helps resolve data related issues with Dolby IT and application vendors * Train all team members with set-up, testing, and implementation of data analysis * Conduct root-cause analysis procedures on data errors * Work closely with IPP worldwide team on market research data as needed. * Work closely with Ops Manager to ensure: * All vendor updates are properly installed and rolled out * Data preparation, cleansing, enrichment, standardization and analysis occurs timely * Ensures data-sharing, FTP transmissions and other data uploads * Systems Analysis, Reporting and Project Management * Working closely with IPP Operations Manager, assist in determining business requirements for specified applications as it relates to data quality and enrichment * Assist in creating detailed documentation for application development and enhancement, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to develop or enhance applications – including defining scope, objectives and use cases and business requirements as it relates to data quality and enrichment. * Assist in creating and maintaining data related project schedules by tracking all phases of the project product/service lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving issues * Deliver end-user training
Ideal Candidate
**Skills** * Effective in building highly collaborative relationships with other internal and external teams to provision the IPP team with data needed to do their jobs * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive consensus * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Excel and power-point power user * SAP Business Intelligence/SQL/Access * Ability to train personnel * Able to work with limited supervision **Requirements:** * Preferably 3 years of data analysis, data enrichment and project management experience * Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or Economics required (graduate degree preferred) * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment * Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills * Advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL, PowerPoint * Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects independently, with minimal direction, and with solid follow through * Demonstrated people management skills * Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities * Experience in technology industry a plus * Strong ability to mediate complex cross functional issues and work with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
