DMG provides professional staffing for the Maricopa Integrated Health System in Maricopa County, Arizona. It's Psychiatry Division is one of eight in the company, and operates a private outpatient clinic in Mesa, AZ in addition to staffing two inpatient psychiatric hospitals in the system.
Summary
The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for the implementation, integration, adoption, use, and ongoing evolution of the clinical information system. The Specialist serves as the liaison between clinicians, ancillary departments and Information Technology (IT) to align clinical and IT standards with department workflow, processes and policies. The Specialist acts as a change agent to promote adoption and performs training on new processes and technologies to support best clinical practices.
Responsibilities
* Performs analysis of current processes and new/existing technologies in order to assist in the management and processing of data, information and knowledge to support clinical practice and the delivery of patient care. * Performs assessment of clinical workflow processes, identifying gaps, escalating and coordinating process solutions to support best practice use of all information systems. * Works closely with the Clinical Directors, Administration, IT and the Meaningful Use Program to assist with the design, and implementation of the Meaningful Use program. * The role will be actively involved in supporting the development, and execution of clinical informatics initiatives, with a focus on process changes that utilize technology to improve clinical and business functions across the organization. * Ensures data/information is current with regulatory agency and best practice standards. * Travel to the various facilities will be required.
Ideal Candidate
**Experience:** * 4 + years experience in a healthcare organization * Prior Experience in an informatics role or as a Super User or Subject Matter Expert in the use and/or implementation of Electronic Health Record Systemis desired but not required * At least two years of experience working as a licensed/certified clinical professional or clinical analyst * Prior experience with supporting and/or teaching end users in the use of clinical applications in a clinical setting. **Education:** * Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. * High school diploma or equivalent required. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** * Must be able to plan and prioritize projects, along with good project management skills. * Must have good communication skills. * Demonstrates competency in the processes involved in the interface between clinical staff and the information systems department to support the clinics. * Demonstrates critical thinking/problem solving skills related to hardware and software necessary for the clinical practice. * Strong understanding of process redesign including documentation of current and future state workflow processes. * Understanding of clinician needs and practice patterns. * Ability to test, analyze, trouble shoot, and isolate complex problems.
