Summary

This position is created to drive sales for new Network Solutions accounts. The sales professionals in this role would be expected to sell to all users of communications networks that have a need to interconnect. This includes, but is not limited to, metro, regional and long-haul fiber providers (both lit and dark), local exchange carriers, ISP's, content distribution networks, wireless carriers, and ancillary network and value-added service providers.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Sales of Telx products and services to new Network Solutions customers in the following verticals: Traditional Telecom/Carriers, Cable Companies, Social, Mobile, Analytics (Big Data), Content, and Cloud.
  • The Account Executive for the Network Solutions team should also have a successful track record of selling colocation and/or data center related products.
  • Responsible for overseeing customer satisfaction of Telx customers including interface with internal departments including provisioning, operations, finance and marketing.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms directly with customers.
  • Lead order entry process including completion of order forms and other contractual work to close opportunities; ensure approvals and acceptances are completed.
  • Manage customer satisfaction in both pre and post sales environment.
  • Account Planning, including positioning matrix, revenue forecasting and opportunity management. Manage opportunity funnel in Salesforce.com
  • Prospecting for new Telx customers through direct outbound efforts, working with Telx partners and attending industry trade shows.
Ideal Candidate
  • 5-10 year proven track record in IT infrastructure or related high technology sales. Colocation/ hosting experience preferred.
  • Direct sales experience in the telecommunications industry, preferably working for or selling to a telecom network service provider
  • Experience in the domestic and international networking and communications space required.
  • Knowledge of Cloud, Compute, Storage, IaaS, Telephony, Mobile Services, Content Distribution, Media Content, IP Peering, and network infrastructure.
  • Sales training experience - Revenue Storm, Holden Power Based Selling, IBM Selling Steps, Complex Sales. Miller Heiman, Selling to VITO (Very Important Top Executives, social styles or similar sales programs
  • Strong work ethic, writing skills and communications skills required
  • History of over achievement in related endeavors a plus (proven track record) - i.e. Academic
  • Self-starter with superior lead generation required
  • Professional and personal references required
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of space and power within the data center space.
  • Salesforce.com knowledge a plus.
  • Competitive intelligence on the colocation and managed hosting space a plus
  • Knowledge/ experience in the cloud space a plus.
  • High tech selling requiring cross functional coordination of engineering, product, marketing and operations teams a plus.
  • Strong corporate and boardroom image a plus
