Senior Consultant for Accounting

Dex Media is dedicated to working with local businesses to provide marketing solutions that will help them win, keep and grow their business and be successful. There was a time when all that was needed to promote a business was a listing in the local newspaper. However, times have changed. Today’s local businesses often find themselves in direct competition with national chains or subjected to the pricing whims of local on-demand companies.

• Month end close responsibilities including journal entry preparation, accrual analysis, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, and ad-hoc management reporting
• Monthly Review and approval of account reconciliations
• Equity accounting and financial consolidation processes
• Inter company analysis and reporting
• Review and participate in external financial reporting including footnotes
• Manage special projects that have a high level of difficulty
• Establish SOX controls, document processes, and participate in tests of controls with internal and external audit
• Assist management in meeting audit requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• CPA Candidate required
• 5 - 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the accounting field
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and accounting skills
• Advanced MS Excel Skills including V-lookups and Pivot Tables
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Personality huge plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to take on new tasks with high level of difficulty

Preferred Qualifications:

• PeopleSoft experience
• Cash Flow Statement preparation and knowledge a huge plus
• Big 4 Accounting Experience
