About DataStax

DataStax delivers Apache Cassandra in a database platform purpose built for the performance and availability demands of IOT, web, and mobile applications.

Summary

We are looking for a full-time Drupal Developer to help build DataStax Academy, its online training portal. You will be able to work remotely and can be located anywhere in the United States. The position reports to the Lead Web Developer.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain our online training portal, DataStax Academy (DSA), using the Drupal content management system
  • Contribute to information architecture decisions regarding DSA content
  • Collaborate with a team of content authors, curriculum developers, designers, and other company stakeholders in the development of new features
  • Ensure DSA uptime in cooperation with DataStax IT
  • Work in a software development process that converts business ideas into valuable software with repeatably high quality and minimum ceremony?
Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years minimum experience in web development
  • Significant production Drupal experience
  • Comfort across the entire web stack, from database to front end
  • Experience with web performance optimization
  • Experience with A/B testing user interface features and conversion pathways
  • Strong knowledge of current and progressive web development technologies (including HTML5, CSS3)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and its contemporary frameworks and APIs
  • Expert in web standards and usability
  • True eagerness to identify, learn, and use new and changing technologies—especially Cassandra
  • An unremittingly positive attitude
  • The ability to bring some fun to your new team

The stuff that wont hurt you, but you dont quite need:

  • Experience with several programming languages
  • Knowledge of BigData concepts
  • Experience with commercial or open-source learning management systems
