Machine Operator II

Established in 1937, this modest business prospered through the manufacture of such products as plastic key cases, steel tape measures, and identification tags for the armed services.

* Start equipment, perform necessary line condition checks, perform minor maintenance and make necessary adjustments to equipment to ensure equipment performance and product quality. * Operate machines at standard rates for better using set up specifications with little assistance. * Install or remove for replacement basic machine components, assist maintenance as needed to resolve issues. * Ensure adequate amounts of material are in the department to maintain production, understand packaging and material specification sheets. * Perform product and color changes as scheduled controlling waste. * Understand and adhere to all sanitation and safety procedures, promote safety by reporting unsafe conditions. * Identify and report basic equipment, machine and tool problems. Perform repairs in a timely fashion, using normal range of hand tools. * Assist other operators during start up, shut down, and repair of production lines. * Assist in maintaining a clean work area, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), adhere to BRC and internal auditing standards. * Conduct quality checks, correct deficiencies and initiate quality audits when necessary. Understand product specifications. * Assist stocking lines with packing materials and understand packaging specifications. * Participate in small process improvement teams, provide suggestions for improvement. * Assist lead operator and mechanics as assigned. * Assist packers in the packing and grinding process. * Perform other duties as assigned.

* Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues * Ability to work overtime as needed * Ability to work weekends as needed * Three (3) years of manufacturing experience
