Summary
Operational Risk Management (ORM) brings together a fully integrated and coherent approach to operational risk. The function covers Private Banking/Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Shared Services (ShS). As outsourcing relationships can potentially increase the bank's exposure to operational risk, a new Outsourcing risk management function has been created. This role will support the approach to the management of Outsourcing Risk (including Centre of Excellence (CoE) risk). The function sits within the Shared Services ORM function and covers Outsourcing risk across Credit Suisse.
Responsibilities
As a second line defense function, will be responsible for providing governance of Outsourcing; this includes intra-Group Outsourcings and CoE vendor Outsourcings subject to the Migration and Planning Process, intra-Group Outsourcings not subject to the MPP and external Outsourcings. Core duties and responsibilities include: * Supporting the Head of ShS Outsourcing in helping to deliver ShS Outsourcing departmental strategy * Guiding management to understand potential impacts of initiatives on all relevant components of the Operational Risk Framework * Assess and challenge whether adequate oversight and controls commensurate to the level of risk involved are in place * Provide independent challenge of assessments undertaken to support critical outsource activities; through to risk mitigation and control verification to determine whether the bank's operational risks are being effectively managed * Assisting program management to identify operational risk in critical contracts at each stage of the outsourcing lifecycle * Challenge whether outsourced activities are conducted in compliance with applicable internal Credit Suisse Policies and Standards and applicable laws and regulations * Review and challenge results of management's on-going monitoring of outsourcing relationships and services from an operational risk perspective (monitoring of outsourcers activities and performance, risk and control indicators, business continuity management and disaster recovery testing, on-going assessment of the outsourcers control environment) * Determine reporting requirements for ShS Outsourcing, that include providing transparency into high-risk relationships to assist with the 2nd line defense challenge
Ideal Candidate
* Proven financial sector experience, preferably in a risk management, internal audit, operational risk, legal and compliance role in an investment or large commercial bank, accountancy/consultancy firm or regulator * Ability to assess and challenge findings * Solid verbal and written communication skills with excellent negotiating, influencing skills; assertive and persuasive * Solid organizational, analytic and multi-tasking skills * Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills * Graduate qualification
