Summary
The Equity Derivatives COO team proactively seeks to develop and positively impact all aspects of the business. You will be working with business heads, management teams and support departments to ensure the business is run effectively, in a controlled manner, with a forward-looking and delivery-focused mandate.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to provide regional COO support to the Trading, Sales and Structuring teams based in the Americas region with a focus on our Structured Derivatives products. The main responsibilities include: * Partner with regional heads of Structured Trading, Sales and Structuring in day-to-day management of the Americas Structured business, including: * produce and track business plans, business strategies and revenue budgets * conduct client level analyses and performance reviews * analyze and deliver new business ideas * manage / oversee the control environment * lead process optimization, business improvement and cost reduction initiatives * assess financials, manage cost base and optimize capital * lead other day-to-day business operations * Support Global and Regional Equity Derivatives management teams on broader business initiatives, business planning, client strategy assessments and execution of front office programs such as capital optimization, CCAR/IHC, regulatory reform and strategic IT deliveries * Ensure robust and compliant control environment with continuing focus on mitigating operational risk and aligning to advancing regulatory frameworks. Focus includes leading core governance committees, monitoring Key Performance Indicators, enhancing core control processes and delivering against risk self-assessments and internal audit findings * Partner with support areas to ensure adequate front to back support of the business and resource alignment with business objectives. Provide day-to-day operational support to address support issues on behalf of senior management
Ideal Candidate
* 5-10 years of experience within investment banking, COO, CFO or other financial services roles * Exposure to equity derivatives and financial securities with understanding of product types, trading process and related modeling, risk or operational considerations * Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to liaise with all levels, explain potentially complex ideas and present findings to senior management * Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Must be able to manage a large workload accurately and efficiently, delivering to strict deadlines * Proactive and able to learn quickly and independently * Demonstrated strong career progression with a track record of achievement * Must be a good team player, with a proven ability to work across business lines and functions * Experience in transforming complex processes
