The company has had only three chairmen and three presidents since its founding over 80 years ago. Keith Crain, chairman, with elder brother Rance Crain, president, lead the company in a strong legacy set forth first by their father, G.D. Crain, Jr., and later their mother, Gertrude R. Crain.
Responsibilities
* It is the responsibility of the Senior Editor to work closely with both the editorial side and business side of the publication, crafting an editorial vision and marketing plan for each event. * This person will be involved in all aspects of event planning, execution and promotion, including speaker recruitment, presentation development,and speaker management during events. * Translating the event’s content for use on Ad Age’s editorial platforms and social media, as well as in event agendas, microsites and promotional materials is also a key part of the job.
Ideal Candidate
* The ideal candidate has a background in journalism, some experience shaping compelling events and a knack for marketing. * Candidates must thrive in a collaborative, cross-departmental environment. * The successful candidate will have a diverse rolodex of potential speakers and an understanding of what makes for compelling live content. * Five to 10 years of experience in journalism, event planning or a related field is required. * Knowledge of the marketing, technology and media world is preferred.
