Summary
RMS Automotive is looking for a unique individual to own the entire product lifecycle of the buyer and seller portals, which is used to order, manage and then dispose of inventory through a business to business online auction. The mandate for this role is to deliver an industry-leading solution that balances efficiency for clients, promotes a vision of online vehicle management while minimizing engineering development. This role will include but isn't limited to working directly with a team of client facing architects, understanding client business needs, providing a product vision, writing requirements, developing a user experience, and working with engineering to bring the product to life. After reviewing the solution with internal and external constituents, the solution will need to be integrated in to the client's day-to-day operations. Once the product is live, this person will ensure the product/solution continues to meet the client's objectives as the market and business needs evolve.
Responsibilities
* Own the end-to-end product / feature lifecycle, from concept to go live to end-of-life. * Together with Product Architects and Client Architects, define and develop new features and/or enhancements. Document features, functions and use cases for all system changes. Collect feedback on the various solutions, and push forward the best option. Perform User Acceptance Testing. Support production release of code. * Support definition and development of the next generation system architecture, capabilities, and requirements. * Work fluidly with other Product Architects to brainstorm, support, and meet deliverables. * Together with engineering, help the feature/enhancement vision come to life. * Work closely with internal resources to make the product vision come to life, including but not limited to sales, marketing, finance, engineering, quality assurance, training, and more. * Together with training and technical writing, ensure the product feature set is clearly communicated to the organization, including incremental changes in each release. * Determine what features / products can be reused from sister Cox Automotive companies. Determine if new product features can be purchased from third parties vs built in-house.
Ideal Candidate
* Other Product Architects and Director Product * Client Architects, who will deploy the solution for each client * Sales to prioritize work, set client expectations * Support team, including handover and transactional/dealer support where applicable * Engineering, QA, and Project Management teams in the US, UK, and India **Education:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. **Experience:** * 3+ years of product management, business process improvement, and/or automotive wholesale experience * Is a self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including tactical and strategic issues * Understanding of vehicle portfolio management / online vehicle remarketing. Broad understanding/experience with online retail/wholesale websites. * Understanding of software development lifecycles * Agile Software Development experience * Proficient with MS Office tools especially Project, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio. **Physical Demands & Work Environment:** * Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time * Thrive in a highly active and energetic work place * Travel required: 10-30% (international travel may be required)
