Summary
The Shipping and Receiving department is a critical piece of the supply chain department, as they handle all receipts and shipments of Corbion goods. The focus of this position will be to provide leadership and guidance to the shipping and receiving staff members as well as manage the processes of the department. The ability to set clear directions for all employees while holding them accountable is a paramount skill for this position. The desired candidate for this position is an individual who can maintain and improve the efficiency of the shipping processes, along with ensuring the food safety guidelines for the facility are met. This individual will work directly with a union based workforce and must have a clear understanding of the union contract, work rules, and policies. This position will report to the Supply Chain Manager.
Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the shipping department processes. Ensure that standard operational procedures are being followed consistently. * Responsible for the assignment of personnel to specific roles and the assignment of labor as any other needs arise, including the execution of the overtime policy to cover absences. * Responsible for the staging of raw materials to the production centers and taking finished products from the production centers to the dock for transfer out to Grandview distribution center. * Responsible for the shuttling of raw materials from the Grandview distribution center to the plant on a daily basis to ensure that the production schedule for the plant can be met. Will need the ability to investigate issues regarding materials and escalate issues that may result in scheduled production interruptions. * Responsible for informing plant management team and production scheduler on outstanding raw materials needed for scheduled production * Responsible for the material storage process for the plant along with making the appropriate changes to this process in regards to production changes or food safety requirements. * Responsible for compliance with good manufacturing practices and food safety guidelines regarding raw material handling and storage within the plant. * Responsible for the documentation of inbound and outbound material loads. This includes accurate and timely inventory transactions as well as preserving documents according to procedures. * Responsible for the quality, food safety and legality of products * Will perform additional tasks as required to accomplish organizational goals.
Ideal Candidate
* **Education:** Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or other related fields required * **Experience:** Minimum of three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing supervisory role. Experience within a union environment as well as the Food and/or Beverage industry experience is preferred. Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
