At Consensus we are radically simplifying the decidedly un-simple transactional process of selling these devices, from point of sale through activation and beyond.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE LIVING AND BREATHING EACH DAY:

  • Participate in project and scrum teams associated with new business functionality where new databases or modifications to current databases may be required
  • Own the right-sizing of database infrastructure based on projected load volume
  • Determine and deliver best method for high-availability and redundant database architecture within a complex application with multiple database stacks
  • Work in tandem with the security team to ensure all security requirements are delivered protecting company and customer data
  • Monitor database performance for proactive actions preventing production issues impacting full customer base
  • Work with external technology partners to minimize TCO and maximize performance
Ideal Candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience in a related area
  • 5+ years IT related experience in Database design, support and deployment
  • Advance technical knowledge and hands-on expertise with the database administration and troubleshooting in a highly dynamic and customer focused application environment
  • Must have provided production database support
  • Additional requirements listed under competencies
  • Understanding of cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, IBM, RackSpace) and complexities of running high availability database environments
  • Certifications or working knowledge of databases including MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
  • Strong DevOps and continuous delivery methods experience with familiarity of tools including Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Splunk and Git
  • History of end to end Database delivering including capacity planning, performance testing, stress testing, replication and clustering, Disaster Recovery and monitoring and alerting for maximum up-time
  • Strong analytical skills and proven problem solving ability
  • Action oriented and the ability to work in a fast paced delivery driven environment
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, curious

  • You’re a great communicator and are capable of not just doing the work, but teaching others and explaining the “why” behind complicated technical decisions.
  • You’re open to good ideas, wherever they come from.
