We're looking for a smart, experienced Photo Assistant to research photos and shoot for the website and to help grow SELF's traffic and presence on every major and emerging social media platform. The ideal candidate is obsessed with photography and visual art and the latest trends in design and photography, and has experience photo researching, photoshoot assisting, shooting, and using studio lighting. They also understand what, in these areas, performs well on social, and can take topics related to lifestyle, wellness, health, beauty, relationships or humor, and create content that will be devoured by a wide audience on SELF.com's various social media platforms.

* Research photos for editorial stories and social graphics * Manage image database and photo rights * Photo shoot assisting * Possibly shoot in-studio and out of studio * Adjust photos, create collages and post-production retouching * Brainstorm ideas for photo shoots and photo-based projects * Plan and executing big-picture ideas to help create a visual brand for SELF.com * Work with Social Media team to track success of images

* At least 1 year of experience shooting, whether your own, or work for a company * Experience doing stock photo research * Proficiency in Adobe platforms, namely: Photoshop, Camera Raw, Bridge * Keen eye for photography * Impeccable attention to detail * Knowledge of photography practices, color, composition * Design skills a plus * Very strong communication and collaboration skills * Intimate knowledge of the social media space
