Summary
We are currently seeking a Warehouse Attendant to perform a variety of tasks in connection with the receipt, storage and distribution of stock items. Receives, checks, stores, counts and distributes inventory of all types in accordance with established systems, procedures and methods.
Responsibilities
* Reads load reservations and customer order requests (computer generated pre-sell orders) to determine stock items to be pulled for distribution. * Loads or unloads items on or from trucks and other conveyors. * Conveys items to and from receiving, shipping and storage areas. * Assembles sales personnel and customer orders and requests by pulling from on-hand stock and placing in staging areas. * Audits picked orders for accuracy and reports discrepancies to supervisor for corrections * Stacks and arranges product on pallets. * Assists internal customers physically load products on to of sales trucks * Assists in weekly/monthly inventory cycle counts of warehouse and company vehicles by determining quantities of product on hand. * Moves product in warehouse necessary during reallocations of space or taking of inventory. * Rotates product and arranges according to Julian dates or FIFO (first in first out). * Receives and checks against receiving documents incoming product, ensuring proper nomenclature and product code (UPC), quantity and condition. Reports any discrepancies to the Supervisor. * May be required to utilize location van to pick up product from outside vendors and deliver to warehouse for further processing. * May be required to help maintain Lawn and landscaping. * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. * Completes forklift and pallet jack inspections before each shift. * Replenish stock while maintaining a cleaned and organized warehouse daily. * Provides exceptional service to sales team and creates a positive team environment. * Occasionally required to clean and perform minor repairs to equipment. * Operates industrial forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks.
Ideal Candidate
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) AND one to two years related experience; or equivalent combinations of education and experience * Valid Driver's License * Ability to operate forklift, hoist, welding equipment and various hand and power tools * Familiar with industrial and mechanical terminology * Knowledge of CFR 110, current good manufacturing practices and AIB consolidated standards for food safety * Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear * Frequently lift up to 50 pounds. May occasionally lift/move up to 200 pounds (with assistance of lift or by two persons) * Occasionally required to taste or smell * The noise level in the work environment from production machinery is usually very loud
