Summary
Manage international marketing projects and communication to support corporate image and exposure, international marketing policies, strategies and initiatives along with the development of global marketing tools for Columbia Sportswear. Work directly with outside marketing partners to interpret and identify marketing opportunities. Initiate communication with internal marketing department and execute projects accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with GTM Manager to create project system by which all functional departments of Marketing Communications can identify the international partners’ needs and thereby provide the appropriate level of support/materials in a timely manner. - Monitor progress of projects and communicate status with international and marketing department stakeholders. - Initiate, monitor, and review seasonal/initiative international marketing projects - Work directly with international partners to manage and monitor projects submitted by international partners. - Incumbent must have an understanding and appreciation for marketing strategies and goals as they relate to the positioning of the brand. - Consult with GTM Manager and internal marketing departments to be knowledgeable about all corporate marketing projects/strategies and communicate to international partners as appropriate. - Collaborate with GTM Manager to maintain and monitor international marketing project calendar. - Obtain feedback from Marketing Managers and International stakeholders that might influence project calendar. - Promptly respond to requests for specific marketing materials from international offices/distributors, such as graphic images, collateral, etc. Interface with appropriate marketing dept. contacts to fulfill request. Monitor and distribute materials. - Develop/implement review process for seasonal international advertising and media plans. Maintain library of current and historic international advertising. - Support development of international dealer and consumer catalog schedules and process. - Review seasonal international collateral (consumer brochures/catalogs) with appropriate internal marketing contacts and provide consolidated feedback to ensure global consistency. - Interface with Public Relations, Promotions and Social Media Departments to communicate corporate efforts and strategies to international partners. - Manage process and timelines with International Marketing Team for int’l web projects with int’l marketing contacts and internal web team. - Manage seasonal digital product, ad and lifestyle photography (assess int’l needs and manage timelines) with creative services and international marketing contacts. - Proactively manage communication of corporate marketing policies, marketing tools/materials and information via Marketing shared sites. - Provide support to Visual Marketing department related to international visual marketing projects/needs as required. - Support development of marketing materials for corporate meetings including US and International Sales Meetings and Global Marketing Meetings. - Maintain system of international marketing project files that display ongoing/historical international projects and examples of marketing materials and plans used by international partners.
Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of the outdoor industry, consumer buying patterns and retail dynamics sufficient to be credible and influential with customers. - Ability to communicate in additional language(s) in written and oral form is a bonus. - Proficient in manipulating data including statistical analysis and advanced math calculations. - Excellent organizational and presentation skills and attention to detail required. - Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field –or- work experience equivalent to a degree and two to four years related marketing experience. - 5-8 years of experience - Possess strong working knowledge of Word and Excel. - Corporate international marketing experience strongly preferred. - Bilingual fluency preferred. - Requires overseas and domestic travel. - Job requires hours that may occasionally exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during times of peak activity. - Evening meetings and/or weekend work occasionally required to collaborate with people in other time zones and to ensure timely project completion. - Some job pressure exists in the balancing of several projects with conflicting and sometimes changing deadlines. - Physical capability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Exposure to a computer CRT.
