Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with the ability to develop and manage projects on the nexus of water, food and energy. The candidate will establish a collaborative environment between CSU OWSI partners that fosters engagement with industry, foundations and other not-for-profit organizations, and government agencies. OWSI is housed at CSU and will assist businesses and other private and public organizations to apply their resources toward identification and solution of complex water-related issues globally.
Essential Job Duties:
- Grant Funding
Attract grants and contracts funding/sponsorship with a focus on initiatives that maximize the participation and partnership between CSU OWSI, private sector, local government agencies, and stakeholders.
- Identify Key Projects
Identify key projects- including technology and policy solutions, major conferences, and international business development- coordinating among project participants, and raising funds to execute the projects.
- Community Involvement
Create a robust and inclusive process for business community involvement with CSU OWSI.
- Manage Engagement
Actively manage involvement with industry and government agencies to ensure ongoing community engagement with initiatives. This will include developing collaborative and mutually advantageous relationships among the various participants and stakeholders, particularly in Colorado.
- Corporate Partnerships
Seek private corporate participation and sponsorship in the development and demonstration of next generation water technologies.
- Proven ability to raise funds for non-profit organizations or industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven track record of developing and executing contracts and grants
- Bachelors degree
- Established professional network along the Colorado Front Range
- Proven ability to build coalitions across diverse groups, including both for-profit and not-for-profit stakeholders
- Understanding of technology-based economic development and job creation
- Understanding of the issues and challenges facing water in the agriculture, industrial and ecological water systems
- Executive experience, governance experience, and/or significant consulting experience with water related issues
- Proven track record of successfully working with key stakeholder groups
- Natural aptitude for leadership and executive presence
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet performance expectations
- Demonstrated strategic planning capability
- Clear vision of the evolution of the water innovation markets
- Strong nonprofit or business management understanding
Additional Notes on Compensation
Annual Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000
