Executive Director for Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing

Colorado School of Mines invites applications for the position of Executive Director for Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing. The ED-SCIM is a new position and will be responsible for promoting and raising the global visibility of Mines.

Reporting to the President, the position will provide leadership to the University public relations and marketing team, as well as an extended team of communications professionals in the colleges, department, and administrative units across the university. The ED-SCIM will develop and implement an integrated communications plan that leverages available vehicles and tools including print, web, media (traditional and social), and events to enhance the internal and external knowledge of – and appreciation for – the hallmarks of the university’s excellence, the educational experience it provides, and the innovations and impact of its faculty, students and alumni.

Responsibilities encompass three major areas:

• Communications Strategy, Vision and Leadership

• Communications Operations

• Team Development/Management

Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree and progressively senior responsibilities, with significant experience managing professional staff and in leading comprehensive communications and positioning efforts for a college or university or related complex organization with multiple internal and external stakeholders are required.
