Summary
**Colorado Business Bank** is currently seeking a **Real Estate Senior Closing Officer** at our **Denver** location. Position coordinates and facilitates all aspects of the closing function in support of the Real Estate Department as well as Colorado and Arizona Banks requiring support in closing secured Real Estate loans. Closes complex real estate including term, construction and syndication. Works independently with lenders, title companies, attorneys, loan operations, credit and borrower to perform all essential closing, documentation and booking functions. Position must effectively and proactively represent RELA positively to other areas of the bank.
Responsibilities
- Proactively maintains an up-to-date understanding of CoBiz loan operations capabilities and limitations, syndication standards, construction administration standards, standard documentation requirements, and credit policy. - Reviews credit approval, determines due diligence requirements and loan structure and prepares and updates a checklist for the documentation of the loan facility. - Serves as primary contact with the Borrower throughout the closing process and keeps all parties informed. - Orders and reviews title insurance, property insurance, surveys, appraisal and pay-offs as needed. - Reviews legal documents to ensure conformance with credit presentation and regulatory compliance. - Independently negotiates closing issues related to insurance, title, survey, syndication, disbursement procedures, reps and warranties, defaults, remedies, and determines if a business decision or credit approval is required to address the issue and consults the lender and/or credit approval authorities as required. - Takes direction from Lender as to negotiation of economic loan structure, financial, and reporting covenants; reviews final documentation to verify its compliance with the loan approval. - Responsible for accurate and timely booking of the transaction. - Responsible for HMDA reporting as applicable and tracking withdrawn loans once entered into the closing process. - Ensures integrity of the financial monitoring, loan covenants and loan coding. - Ensures credit file is properly set up and all collateral documentation in properly perfected and in file. - Works closely with loan operations, construction administration, credit, and in-house legal to make certain each of those groups’ requirements are met with each loan closed.
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge, Skill and Ability:** - Working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel. - Comprehensive knowledge of loan documentation, collateral, policies and regulations. - Comprehensive knowledge of loan compliance and regulatory requirements. - Effective written and oral communication skills. - Comprehensive knowledge of banking and accounting principles. - Strong customer service skills. - Ability to work with limited supervision. - Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. - Ability to be flexible and prioritize work in a fast paced environment. - Ability to work within a team environment. - Ability to work under tight deadlines. **Education or Formal Training:** - Bachelor degree in business related field or paralegal certification preferred. **Experience:** - Minimum five years previous experience administering complex loan customer relationships and projects. - Prior experience working with deeds of trust and other real estate instruments.
