Underwriting and Credit Analyst

Colony American Finance is a leading provider of financing solutions to residential real estate investors. We provide attractive long term debt products for stabilized rental portfolios as well as credit lines for new acquisitions.

Colony American Finance, LLC provides acquisition capital and term debt financing to investors of single-family and multi-family rental portfolios. We are seeking an experienced Analyst for our Underwriting & Credit Group. The Analyst will work closely with clients, internal teams and various third parties involved in financing transactions.

• Conduct underwriting, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation and credit analysis

• Manage transactions and work closely with third-parties involved in due diligence to ensure proper underwriting procedures are followed

• Interface with borrowers to compile required data and information, and resolve diligence related issues

• Evaluate new transaction packages for completeness and risk management

• Analyze operating history and financial statements of portfolios submitted by borrowers and maintain quality control of financial models

• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple transactions in a fast-paced deal environment

• Perform other related duties or special ad hoc projects as assigned

• Exercise discretion, independent judgment and problem solving abilities to complete work assignments

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Real Estate preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate, lending, finance or a related field
• Financial modeling experience in commercial, residential and/or multi-family real estate preferred
• Excellent Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Superior attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills
