Cloud Team Lead

Cloudera is looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to play a key role in advancing Cloudera’s product offerings in the cloud. In this role, you will be contributing at the intersection of three white-hot areas of the computing industry: Big Data, the cloud, and virtualization. We are looking for a strong engineer to drive the integration of Cloudera's platform with public and private cloud platforms, and virtualization technologies.

* Go broad: work with product, partner engineering, and other internal and external organizations to synthesize and drive engineering roadmap across our supported cloud platforms. * Go deep: identify and jump into hot issues and resolve them, such as performance bottle-necking. * Build strong relationships and collaborate with other developers, test engineering, product management, support, sales, and external partners and customers.

* 7+ years of industry experience building robust and highly scalable solutions in Java. We’re equally happy hiring people versed in C/C++/C#/Scala/Go. * Deep understanding of algorithms and data structure fundamentals. * Proven experience designing and implementing features in large distributed systems that scale well – to petabytes of data and tens of thousands of nodes. * Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform. * Demonstrated experience with driving successful cross-functional projects. * B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience. **Pluses** * Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and ESX. * Experience with Hadoop and related technologies. * Knowledge of Linux internals and performance tuning and engineering. * Previous experience with interfacing effectively with partners.
