Summary
Our business in the middle of business/strategy transformation snf we need a strong DBA team leader to run the current business by supporting variant data stores included Oracle (200+), Mysql and Cassandra in our data center or hybrid cloud to ensure the quality of customer experience. Meanwhile, this team also helps to build our database as a service offering in a globally scaled cloud environment.
Responsibilities
The leader’s top priority is to build this global team and accelerate Database As a service enablement. * Drive architecture and design discussions with different cross functional team and Work on geographically distributed teams * Evaluate and embrace variant data store solution to further enhance customer experience * Take and solve challenging problems , empower team members * Self-motivated, able and willing to help where help is needed * Able to build relationships, be culturally sensitive, have goal alignment, have learning agility
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications** Technical Requirements: * Hands on experience with deploying scaled, highly available database solutions across different geographical DC for Oracle and Cassandra * Understanding of database architecture and design including: scalability, backups, performance * Knowledge of RDMBS: Oracle is required, Mysql and Postgres is a plus * Knowledge of NoSQL: Cassandra and is required; Hadoop, MongoDB, and Riak is a plus Non-Technical Requirements: * Agile software development practices * Work on geographically distributed teams * Excellent communicator * Self-motivated, able and willing to help where help is needed * Able to build relationships, be culturally sensitive, have goal alignment, have learning agility * Ready to rock and build an amazing product **Desired Skills** * Hands on experience with transforming RDMBS to NoSql (Oracle -> Cassandra) * Strong development skills and familiarity with JavaScript, Python, ksh… * Understand IT processes, including: architecture, design, implementation, and operations
