Senior Software Engineer

The Team:

Cisco is looking for an engineer to assist in the development of software utilizing Linux, Apache, MySQL, and custom software to store and analyze customer event data. The engineer should be a self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment in the constantly evolving network security field.

The engineer in this position will be responsible for updating database schema based on needs from other teams, software support for Sourcefire’s Defense Center hardware, and performance optimization of MySQL database configuration

Minimum Qualifications:

? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

? Linux administration experience.

? Experience with shell and scripting languages such as Bash and Perl.

? C programming experience.

? Development experience with Linux/UNIX platforms.

? Experience with full software development life cycle.

? Problem solving & research skills.

? Experience with concurrent programming.

? Experience tuning kernel and hardware (BIOS) parameters for performance.
