Summary
As a Product Quality and Reliability Engineer (PQRE) you will be responsible for all aspects of quality and reliability for specific IC products through the entire product development cycle and into production. The PQRE will look to integrate industry best practices into the Product Development Process (PDP) and define the quality and reliability requirements for each deliverable in the PDP, including defining reliability qualification plan/requirements and derating reliability stress conditions to application use cases.
Responsibilities
* Assess each IC product through the product development process to ensure appropriate quality and reliability in our products when they are released to production * Work with specific cross-functional IC product development teams to define reliability qualification requirements and address any issues through the development cycle * Own the development programs from a reliability and quality standpoint – guide and influence the cross-functional development teams to utilize best practices, properly assess the reliability of products as they are developed, and continually improve corporate reliability processes and methods. * Technically assess reliability issues as they arise in development through reliability modeling and use condition derating in partnership with design, apps, and test functions. * Assess design test coverage, test program coverage, etc to ensure DPPM at release to production meets customer/market requirements * Lead qual failure and issue debug efforts and be able to clearly and confidently communicate plans, results, and progress to challenging customers world-wide * Assess current industry best practices, determine which will bring value, and work to implement those into the IC product development process * Work with the Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) and customers to understand quality and reliability expectations and requirements and ensure those are integrated into the IC product development process
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum B.S. in electrical engineering or other related engineering field is required * Excellent interpersonal and customer communication skills * Familiarity with analog and mixed signal devices * Must have at least 10 years of working experience with broad exposure to IC product development process and technical reliability aspects of it. * Experience with wafer fab and assembly processes, test * Processes, product engineering, or quality and reliability engineering a plus. * Must have project management skills and a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams in failure/issue resolution and/or reliability/quality improvement projects * Understanding of DOEs and Structured problem solving * Must have a solid understanding of quality system requirements and demonstrated analytical skills to use data driven approaches to quality and reliability issues.
