Summary
As an IC Failure Analysis Technician at Cirrus Logic, the primary responsibility of the role is to perform physical failure analysis to assist investigations related to production yield and customer return issues under general direction and/or verbal or written directions. The functions include: performing incoming device inspections, package rework, decapsulation, physical & chemical deprocessing, cross-sectioning, and FIB/SEM usage. In this dynamic environment, one must have the ability to think outside the box to develop new techniques and processes. Candidate should be willing to shift work hours to optimize tool usage.
Responsibilities
Work with other teams requesting new and challenging requests which can include construction or competitor analysis, or analyzing process test vehicles. Generate quality analysis reports which incorporate the data/images requested and effectively communicate to the end customer the steps taken during the course of the analysis.
Ideal Candidate
Must have 5 years Failure Analysis experience. Familiarity of FA tools and techniques including Optical Microscope inspections, X-ray, Acoustic Microscopy, Package Decapsulation, Mechanical delayering and cross-sections, SEM operation, Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, chemical deprocessing (wet or dry), FIB operation for cross-sections and circuit edits. Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with all levels of employees. Associate degree in electronics or closely related discipline Strong computer skills Awareness of laboratory maintenance and safety procedures.
