Summary

The Financial Analyst will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting and is a pivotal team member of the Finance unit. The Financial Analyst will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel including other financial analysts, divisional leadership, and functional staff to interpret financial data and operational performance.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain reporting templates and supporting analysis
  • Work closely with business units to clearly summarize and articulate results at various levels of the earnings call preparation cycle. Assist in the preparation and review of the Quarterly Report Books, Quarterly Financial Supplement circle up analysis and supporting Q&A document in preparation for the earnings conference calls.
  • Assist in preparation and review of the Quarterly CEO Report as well as speaker notes, including peer/competitor analysis.
  • Assist in preparation of written summary of competitor earnings releases and conference calls for distribution to senior management. Periodic review and analysis of external analyst models and quarterly review of competitor earnings releases and conference calls.
  • Assist in preparation and/or review of quarterly forecast, annual plan reports and Strategic plan, including detailed review of analysis received from operating units
Ideal Candidate

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills with an ability to learn accounting and insurance policy software
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
  • Proficiency with TM1 an asset
  • Proven problem solving skills
