Principal Financial Analyst-MA

Under limited supervision, responsible for providing a variety of complex financial analyses and reports. Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. • Work with various levels of management to collect, interpret, and report financial information.
• Assists CFO in the development of forecasts. Update forecasts on a monthly basis.
• Performs special financial studies to present to the CFO in conjunction with recommendations concerning proposed plans.
• Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting as required.
• Prepare the consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet for the yearly plan as well as monthly forecasts.
• Design and implement key analytics including variance to plan/prior forecast.
• Ensure a clear understanding of business performance and provide recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
• Develop ad hoc financial analyses for management and/or the business, as needed.
• Coordinate with regional offices and Corporate headquarters in financial analyses and business reviews.
• Ability to review customer contracts/POs and provide revenue recognition guidance to the Controller/CFO. Assist in the resolution of revenue recognition questions.
• Challenge subsidiary forecasts/results and provide recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
• Communication – Work as part of Finance team (CFO/Controller/Finance Manager, others) to support business unit leadership needs by demonstrating strong communication skills. Position requires frequent communication and follow-up with varying levels of personnel outside of the Finance organization including partners, directors, senior managers and various staff levels in support of plan management and other financial information.
• Service Delivery – Take responsibility for the quality and reliability of regular activities and escalate proactively where appropriate. Work independently to identify and resolve routine problems. Escalate any extraordinary issues in a timely manner. Take ownership for completion of all assigned tasks within specified deadlines. Ensure completion of all ad-hoc activities assigned from time to time and provide regular status updates to manager.
• Identify and implement solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness through the elimination, simplification and automation of processes.
• Knowledge and application of financial principles, regulatory requirements and Corporate Internal Control Framework.
• Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance. CPA/CMA/MBA preferred. Ten to twelve (10-12) or more years of relevant financial experience required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. Familiarity with Hyperion is a plus.
• Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills are a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in building strong business partnerships.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently to identify and resolve problems.
