Production Engineer

Under general supervision, works from specifications to assist in implementation and configuration of applications developed by the company.

* Produces design, benchmark testing, and documentation of program implementation. * May customize purchased applications and assist in maintaining program libraries and technical manuals. * Focus on Health, Stability and Security for each application. * Develop Health checks to ensure the availability and integrity of production systems. * Competent to work at the highest technical level on all phases of production support. * May have responsibility for the evaluation of new and existing software products. * May assist other production engineers to effectively accomplish tasks, utilizing all available resources.

* Typically 5 - 8 years with Bachelors Degree or equivalent - Bachelor’s Degree in computer science/related field or the equivalent combination of education and professional work experience from which similar skills and knowledge can be acquired - 5+ years of experience in software administration and troubleshooting - Ability to anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative solutions - Solid understanding and knowledge of Linux environment - Advanced knowledge of Windows Server OS - Advanced Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash or Python or Powershell) - Advanced knowledge of Network-based protocols and applications - Knowledge of SAS and Business Objects - Exceptional Analytical Skills - Able to communicate and collaborate with other IT functional groups for problem/resolution
