This position is responsible for managing assigned IS&S tasks associated with a project or assignment and for setting specs for new and existing applications.
- Manage assigned IS&S tasks associated with the project or assignment. This includes the timely and accurate generation of project plans, status reports, dashboards, task lists, etc.
- Strive to deliver projects ‘on time’, ‘as expected.’
- Conduct or facilitate IS&S project/product meetings, conference calls, kickoff meetings, JAD sessions, debriefs, etc and publish meeting minutes, as appropriate.
- Effectively communicate to all project stakeholders on a regular basis
- Analyze, define & document detailed specs for new & existing applications in compliance with TNT ZDS and BDP methodologies.
- Validate current applications with upcoming business needs and provide recommendations for approach or continuous improvement
- Coordinate development, test, implement, and install new applications and processes.
- Produce effective training materials for IS&S solution & train appropriate team(s), including IS&S Help Desk.
- Effectively identify and escalate issues as appropriate
- Serve as second or third level resource on support calls, as required.
- Serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the assigned TNT application(s).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Transportation/Logistics desired
- Experience with AS400 and Client Server Applications in a plus
- (3)+ three years experience with Logistics applications (ex. Transportation, Warehousing, Crossdock, Sequencing, etc). Knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.
Languages and Communication Skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
Other Skills/Experience
- Accurate typing and/or data entry skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities.
- Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in demanding environments with tight deadlines.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear; frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle and feel; occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms; and requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
