Nurse Practitioner - Women's Hormone Menopause Clinic/Women's Heart Center

Under the supervision of a physician and within the Nurse Practitioner's (NP) scope of service, the Nurse Practitioner provides medical services to patients in the outpatient Women's Hormone and Menopause clinic.

* The NP is responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of the work up and care of the patients, obtain and perform history and physical examinations, manage patient's medications, record and interpret pertinent data (i.e., labs, diagnostic studies, progress notes, etc.), including writing orders under the supervision of a licensed physician, evaluate, diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of a licensed physician * Write progress notes, collate records utilizing the electronic medical record, coordinate ongoing overall patient care with physician, staff, nursing staff and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented, maintain communication with patients and families regarding care, demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the appropriate patient population, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed, perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices, perform other related duties as required. * The NP is also responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership and patient care management across the health care continuum. * The NP serves as a patient advocate throughout the care process, and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences.

**Educational Requirements:** * Master of Nursing Degree required * Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code. **License/Certification/Registration Requirements:** * Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License * National Certification by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). * New Nurse Practitioner graduates who are eligible for national certification will be allowed a period of one year from the date of their training program graduation to obtain national certification. * Current NP Furnishing License / DEA * Current BLS/ACLS certification **Experience:** * Full command (verbal and written) of the English language. * Minimum of 1 (one) year acute hospital experience or outpatient clinic. **Physical Demands: (e.g. lifting, standing, walking):** * Perceptive acuity and physical ability to perform all direct and indirect patient care functions including walking, sitting, standing, bending and light lifting required. **Qualification Requirements/Preferences:** * Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities
