- Cedar is seeking a Construction Project Manager whose primary responsibility will be to plan and execute tenant-related improvements within our shopping center portfolio.
- In addition, you will participate in the due diligence work associated with redevelopment projects, as well as new property acquisitions.
- You will work within the Construction & Development department and report to the VP of Development and Construction.
- You will manage multiple projects at various shopping centers and will act as an “Owner’s Representative” for each project.
- This position requires continuous coordination and interaction with Cedar’s Leasing, Legal, and Operations departments, as well as contractors, design professionals, and government agencies. In addition, duties will include coordination with selected Tenant’s store planning and construction representatives.
- An undergraduate degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the retail industry in a position closely matching the job description above.
- Solid experience reading and critically evaluating construction documents, preparing Landlord scope of work, and understanding of retail lease document development is required.
- Strong conceptual estimating & budgeting skills are necessary, as well as a thorough grasp of contractor selection, bid processes, and management of multiple active construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability to perform a full range of project management duties with limited direct supervision.
- Demonstrated expertise in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.Understanding of typical “Job Cost” systems is also important.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required and participate in an open, “team” oriented work atmosphere.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be capable of managing and delivering multiple projects within budget and on schedule concurrently.
