CCTV-America in Washington D.C. is looking for experienced WordPress web developers to join a rapidly growing global all-news network. The successful candidates will work well in a team environment. Candidates must be skilled in building and modifying WordPress themes and plugins. The ideal candidate will have a mix of development, digital and journalism production. We are looking for someone to create new experiences and forms of digital storytelling to match the way people consume news. And help create strategies for growing audience on our website, mobile and broadcast.

* WordPress development expertise * Proficient in PHP and JavaScript, HTML5, CSS * Skill in jQuery and other programming languages for creating mapping, data visualization and interactive graphics a plus * Proficient in Photoshop and Premiere (or similar non-linear program) * Mobile development, including responsive design * Design, develop and maintain software for the company website, and other digital platforms. * Contribute to the deployment of code to test, staging and live environments. * Ability to juggle multiple tasks and switch gears quickly * Writing and editing stories for presentation on website and digital platforms * Experience creating posts for and managing multiple social media channels * SEO techniques, Google Analytics and digital trends * Knowledge of and interest in international news * Flexibility to work various shifts and holidays, as needed. * Motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and in a team environment * Maintain awareness of the best practices and trends in the wider digital sector * BA/BS degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications or related certification in the field of programming or development. * 4+ years working experience in news digital platforms
