The Information Technology Department has an immediate opening for a full-time Configuration Management Analyst I at our Corporate office in Cedar Falls.
Summary
Support the integrity of the database and code base for all CBE Companies application development projects. Manage the code release pipeline from integration testing through Production. Follow and enforce policies and standards that insure configuration items (code, images, database elements, etc.) are versioned and implemented successfully each and every time. Track all versions of configuration items, including the version of third party tools used to create the configuration. Implement the standard naming styles and conventions for the configuration items that will be managed. Works closely with a quality assurance team to ensure final version is up to organizational standards. Assist the IT department in maintaining our number one goal of all systems up and running.
Responsibilities
* Maintain configuration management policies and procedures. * Daily coordination with the application teams, support release installation and post-implementation configuration activities. * Execute the configuration management activities using selected configuration management tools - creates packages, audit, promote, demote, freeze and unfreeze packages for scheduled and un-scheduled releases. * Manage the release pipeline and help with maintaining code branches and code merges as necessary. * Troubleshoot issues with builds and deployments. * Identify and eliminate waste in software development and release life cycle. * Responsible for configuration audits. Supports audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met. * Interacts with all levels of personnel in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation, and contributes to excellent performance. * Perform after hours and weekend on-call support including trouble-shooting and problem resolution (scheduled on a rotating basis). * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Application Development Management and/or the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Industry standard certifications a plus. * Understanding of design, coding, testing and debugging techniques. * Understanding of software configuration management tools. * Knowledge of continuous integration process and tools. * Knowledge of shell scripting or writing macros. * Knowledge of build/deployment automation process and tools. * Knowledge of software configuration management in software development. * Knowledge of system testing best practices. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills.
