Summary
The Web Content Strategist is responsible for the strategy and execution of digital content across carmax.com and the CarMax mobile apps. The primary goal of this position is to understand and develop digital content that improves the customer experience and supports SEO goals. It relies heavily on rapid development, testing and iterating to increase customer engagement and interaction on our websites and mobile applications.
Responsibilities
**Content Strategy** * Partner with product managers, internal business stakeholders and functional teams to define content requirements and strategy. * Maintain strong relationships with key business partners to ensure content plans are aligned with company objectives/plans. * Ensure online content complies with corporate brand standards, web style guide, legal and compliance. * Establish metrics to measure efficacy of content solution. * Monitor performance and metrics post-release; identify and drive improvement opportunities. **Content Management** * Manage all components of the content lifecycle, including: - Acquisition, creation, and curation of content - Review and approval cycles - Localization models - Content publishing - Analysis of content performance to goals - Content optimization - Content archival * Generate and oversee a content matrix for all web content assets. * Manage 3rd party vendor relationships; evaluate 3rd party vendor needs
Ideal Candidate
* Ability to communicate with and influence a variety of audiences including IT developers, business partners, product managers, UX designers, stakeholders, and management * Experience in creating and/or executing on a content strategy within the interactive space * Experience working on a large-scale website or network of sites and creating/editing content for multiple channels * Passion for creating great user experiences with actionable knowledge of the digital landscape including current industry and user trends, emerging technologies and standards * Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills * Must have strong cross-functional teamwork skills * Ability to observe business situations, recognize opportunities and recommend solutions * Ability to adapt to changing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines with accuracy * Ability to lead and partner with peer groups * Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels from senior business leadership to technical resources * Strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to identify areas of improvement and make sound recommendations to solve problems * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Effective at handling multiple concurrent product tracks * Ability to work independently with minimum supervision **Education and/or Experience:** * 3+ Years of Content Marketing or Content Strategy Experience * 3+ Years of experience working with SiteCore or other similar CMS tools * 3+ Years of experience with web analytics tools * BA or BS in related field, preferred
