Oversees administration and plant operations for production, maintenance and quality. Ensures workplace safety.
Responsibilities
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities** * Manages all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Caraustar accounting policies and financial control procedures. Ensures that Subordinates are trained in and aware of the requirements of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy. * Manage staff and arrange driver schedule with Plant Manager. * Analyzes corporate financial statements of profit and loss each month. * Direct and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency. * Purchase product and maintain inventory that is suitable to customers needs. * Approve all purchase orders and establish pricing. * Approve all credit requests. * Approve sales acknowledgements and maintain a daily log. * Adhere and execute all company policies and procedures. * Inspect and conduct month-end inventory count. * Submit inventory spreadsheet to Controller at month-end. * Manage the logistics of the product in the production facilities. * Ensures a safe and healthy workplace. **Other Responsibilities** * Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy required. * Authorize final payroll documents. * Determine staffing requirements, train and hire new employees; oversee personnel processes. * Service all current vendors and cultivate new ones. * Review and approve the daily shipping log and non-transferred reports.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management or related industry preferred and/or at least 5 years management experience in manufacturing or similar industry required. * Must have prior knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources. * Must have advanced knowledge of marketing and sales techniques and strategies. * Must thoroughly understand Human Resource principles and procedures of recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiations, and personnel information systems where appropriate. * Must have knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. * Ability to actively listen and communicate efficiently. * Ability to strategically plan and make good judgments. * Ability to manage time of self and others a must.
