Underwriting Manager Commercial Property

This is an opportunity to join an A.M. Best A+ rated carrier specializing in providing insurance coverage to small and mid-sized businesses across the country as they rapidly expand their geographic footprint across the United States. We have been retained by Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance to identify an experienced Commercial Property Underwriting Manager to assist in a business plan to drive growth of property business based on market trends, competitor analysis, and use of best practices.

• Assist in the creation and implementation of processes and procedures related to marketing, underwriting, claims, etc.
• Serve as a Home Office underwriting resource/approver on large property risks.
• Work with underwriting teams to establish appropriate underwriting guidelines for property.
• Work with Business Systems to suggest any enhancements or modifications to our internal systems.
• Ensure that profitability objectives are being met.
• Provide property underwriting training and development for underwriting staff as needed.

• 10+ years’ experience in Commercial Property Insurance.
• Prior product development experience preferred.
• Prior management/leadership experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
