Summary
The Loss Control Consultant will facilitate the creation and implementation of safety programs and training plans specific to each insured’s need. Working for a claims and risk management consulting group in Atlanta, this role is a critical component of providing clients access to resources that are customized to their risk exposures. This role ensures clients are compliant with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, DOT and EPA. This position requires a safety and loss control professional who is able to recognize critical information, analyze risk and work in close tandem with clients building strong relationships that are key to account retention.
Responsibilities
* Inspect client facilities, locations of operations, vehicle fleets and other equipment. Note attributes and safety concerns related to their business. Provide detailed reports of your finding including recommendations for improvement. * Obtain resources for clients; help them manage and develop loss control programs; this includes driver training, return to work programs and background screening. Communicate goals. Monitor progress. Track claims and communicate updates on regulations and compliance. * Develop rapport in-person with clients; solve problems and serve as an advisor. Discuss budgetary concerns; research cost effective plans to minimize identified exposures. Make presentations on program values and benefits.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree required from a recognized college or university with track record of career progression. * A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of safety, loss control or risk management. This position does not require insurance industry experience. Candidates from the private industry/employer side in corporate safety and/or risk management roles will be strongly considered. * Ability to work independently and able to travel overnight. * Possess analytical skills, creativity, strong communication skills and proficient in OSHA standards and regulation. Able to serve in a consultative capacity developing strong client relationships.
