An independent risk management and insurance consulting firm based in Maryland is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Consultant in its property and liability practice. This is an opportunity to work for an organization ranked as one of the top ten largest U.S. independent P&L risk management consulting firms in the US.

* Risk management audits * Insurance policy analysis * Preparation of Requests for Proposals for insurance and risk management services * Preparation of statements of value * Review premium invoices and adjustments for accuracy * Develop premium and cost allocation programs * Prepare comprehensive insurance and risk management budgets for clients * Evaluate insurance market conditions and trends * Policy review – compare and contrast coverage forms * Develop prospects and perform sales calls

* Ability to interact with multiple staff members as well as clients and brokers * Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills * Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills * Solid analytical skills * Career entrepreneurial spirit oriented, with a desire to grow within the organization * 7-10 years of experience in property, liability and workers compensation field. * Technically oriented professionals from a brokerage or production oriented Underwriters from a carrier make ideal hires. * Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations * Proficient in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc. as well as Adobe
