Summary
Canon, U. S. A., Inc. is currently hiring for our 2016 Canon Insights Intern Program. The Insights Program is a comprehensive program that runs for 10 weeks during the summer. This is a full-time (9 AM to 5 PM), 35 hours a week, paid internship. This program is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects and exposure to various business units within Canon.
Responsibilities
* Website maintenance. This will include removal of discontinued products, verify accuracy and messaging of all models and options / accessories, etc. * Assist in processing tradeshow leads during the internship period. This will include tasks such as drafting and sending follow-up communications, distribution of leads to appropriate channel partners, follow-up with Canon sales / channel partners to determine lead disposition, etc. * Assist in creating email blasts for Canon Direct, the online storefront for Canon imageFORMULA scanner products. This will include drafting copy, providing graphical assets needed, etc. to fit into theme of email blasts. * Assist in creation of vertical marketing collateral. This will include researching scanner use in targeted vertical markets (working with internal Canon marketing groups, Canon sales, and self-performed research), identifying Demographics, Psychographics, Geographics, Key Usage Factors, and Unmet Needs in targeted vertical markets, drafting sales tools / collateral materials for use by Canon sales / channel partners, etc.
Ideal Candidate
* We prefer students that are entering their Junior or Senior year as of the Summer 2016, however, all are welcome to apply. * To succeed in the Insights Program, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Power point, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. * We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and have some former work or internship experience. * Marketing-related majors. (Journalism-related majors will be considered.) * Ability to use Microsoft Office application suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). * Basic interest in technology marketing.
