Summary
The library sales rep will be responsible for selling new and existing online products, including Cambridge journals packages, journal archives, databases and ebooks to a territory within the US library and institutional market. This position will be based in the field, preferably in or around Austin, TX, but we may be open to other locations in the Mid-West for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining and further developing relationships with existing customers * • Ability to research and target new business; ability to make cold calls * • Responding to high volumes of customer/internal queries daily (via email or phone) * • Preparing quotes, negotiating pricing and providing follow-up through all stages of the sale * • Responsible for tracking & reporting monthly sales activities, including any significant customer feedback * • Collaborating with colleagues internally to ensure customer satisfaction & quickly resolve outstanding customer issues * • Moderate travel: site visits within sales territory and attendance at academic library conferences * • Creation and execution of public sales presentations * • Daily use of CRM software - Salesforce
Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidates will possess at least 3 years of sales experience, preferably in academic digital products. A Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent preferred, strong interpersonal and communications skills, ability to prioritize and work independently as well as within a team environment, and knowledge of: Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint, Internet research. Salesforce experience and interest/knowledge of academic library issues is a plus.
