Content Manager

Cambridge University Press is the publishing business of the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s leading research institutions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Content Manager to join our busy and dynamic team, working on academic books in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Content Management team is a newly formed department, combining editorial and production functions. Our humanities and social sciences division produces content in a range of formats across a wide variety of subject areas including archaeology, religious studies, psychology, economics, history, and politics.

Providing author support and advice on submission requirements writing engaging blurb copy researching cover images and briefing designers commissioning work from copy-editors, proofreaders and other external suppliers quality checking proofs, final files and electronic content management of the schedule and budget for the project supporting Commissioning Editors in overall list management. As a Content Manager, your role will be to support authors through the entire publication process, from pre-contract to the timely submission of manuscripts and the final delivery of print and digital files. You will work closely with Commissioning Editors to specify the requirements for each project and to produce titles on time and to budget.

We are looking for highly motivated and organized individuals, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have previous experience in the publishing industry, ideally in an editorial or production role. You will have a proven track record of managing a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
