**About the Position:**? Under the management and direction of the Director of Creative Services (University Communications), the Senior Graphic Designer is a key, strategic member of the marketing communications team, who will design and produce a wide variety of print and electronic materials that advance the brand, mission, and values of the University. The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for communicating with clients across the University, including at the executive level, and maintains client relations through appreciable judgment and interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide feedback and guidance with tact and discretion. * Design University marketing and communications publications and graphic-communication projects, requiring expert interpretation and technical skills. * Use design space/layout, typography, graphics, and photo images to support written content/messaging, and advance the CSUEB brand through accepted academic, internal, and professional design and publication standards. * Desktop publish a wide range of publications, print collateral, and graphic communications, including expert-level use of typography, layout, graphics, and photo selection. Design and layout for print version of the University's alumni magazine. * Design and produce large outdoor branded banners and super-graphics for various campus and off-campus locations. * Design and produce innovative specialized graphic communications and marks or logos. * Color correct and digitally manipulate photography as needed for publications. * Write accurate publication specifications for Creative Services Department projects. * Design, upload and manage online graphics for University Communication projects. * Produce a wide range of basic to complex web graphics by appropriately, effectively, and creatively interpreting initial direction from Director of Creative Services, development, and other general University projects. * Manage and publish art assets in the University's website content management system. * Assist in management and maintenance of the online versions of the University's alumni magazine.
Ideal Candidate
* Demonstrable mastery and understanding of appropriate use of typography, images, color, photography, and the principles of visual layout to create professional products that advance the brand, mission, and values of the University. * Solid understanding of marketing communications. * Extensive fluency in communications and graphic design theory; website design standards; and production techniques and processes. * Advanced level knowledge of Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro; Microsoft Office; Apple Aperture, Mac OS, iOS; and the ability to adapt to and learn new software as needed. * Expertise in color correction and photo manipulation. * Demonstrable experience with printing and vendor services to manage and prepare budgets, perform cost analyses, and utilize internal resources effectively. * Experience in logo design. * Experience with publication design, both print and digital. * Experience with info-graphic design and production. * Ability to work autonomously, showing a hands-on, self-motivated attitude, as well as take the lead on complex projects, with limited guidance. **Minimum Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or other related field or equivalent training and applied experience. * Professional graphic design experience. **Preferred Skills and Knowledge:** * At least three (3) to five (5) years of professional graphic design experience. * Experience in video animation is a plus.

Salary Range: $4,104.00/mo. to $6,468.00/mo. PLEASE NOTE: The anticipated starting salary will be from $4,104.00/mo. to $5,833.00/mo.
