Responsibilities
The Rapid Prototyping Manager, supports its shops and studios in the operations and development of Rapid Prototyping, CNC, CAM and related technologies. Responsibilities Include: As a key member of the SF shop staff, the Rapid Prototyping Manager will interact with students, faculty and administrators, to train, operate and guide use of various equipment related to fabrication and advanced rapid prototyping technologies, including but not limited to: * 3D printing * 3D scanning * laser cutting * engineering and drafting software * CNC and CAM operation * and other specialized equipment. The Rapid Prototyping Manager will work closely with shop and studio staff to develop and maintain academic support, providing training and workshops on RP techniques, managing print submissions, inventory, and supervising RP support staff. The Rapid Prototyping Manager will work in collaboration with the Educational Technologies Services department at CCA, to develop, integrate and maintain software and hardware related to rapid prototyping and making at the university. The Rapid Prototyping Manager will provide technical assistance to students and faculty to promote and encourage use of rapid prototyping technologies at CCA.
Ideal Candidate
The Rapid Prototyping Manager must have: * 2-3 years recent experience working in a lab or shop setting * 2-3 years experience working with 3D printing, (zcorp, objet, makerbot) * 2-3 years experience working with Design software, (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino) * 2-3 years experience working with laser cutting (epilog, lasercamm, universal) * 2-3 years experience working with CNC and CAM, (shopbot, roland, shopcam) * Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree or higher The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with students in a higher education setting, with a high personal or professional interest in prototyping related fields such as product design, architecture, engineering, or fine arts.

This is a full time salary position with pay and benefits commensurate upon experience.

Working Conditions

Term: 12 month position. Hours and duties may vary as required.
