Here at Cake we are currently seeking highly skilled, and talented Scala Consultants to join our New York team that is made up of 9 Scala enthusiasts and 1 Project Manager, who are currently frequenting the WeWork over at Irving Place. This team work on the same projects as the rest of the business, which covers multiple domains (eCommerce, Automotive, Fintech and Sports to name a few) in multiple countries, however they have the added advantage of being based closer to a lot of our clients!

You will help our clients make informed technology choices by providing advice based on your experience and/or research. You will also get to work closely with client teams to deliver reactive software solutions using modern software stacks. Your approach will be varied but may include writing technical papers, giving presentations, creating proof-of-concepts, mentoring engineers and/or collaborating with delivery teams. We also need you to be adaptable and have the confidence to interact with clients on a one to one basis.

**What we expect:** * You want to work in technically challenging and varied problem domains. * You enjoy building relationships and interacting with clients. * You are passionate about technology. **Essential Skills and Experience:** * Experience with Scala (additional experience of Java is a bonus) * Experience with the Lightbend Reactive Platform: Play, Akka, and/or Spark. * Understanding of agile practices and methodologies. * Understanding of software engineering best practices. * Awareness of AWS, Docker, Puppet and/or Ansible. * Experience of designing and deploying large scale production systems. * Awareness of DynamoDB, Cassandra and/or MongoDB.
